Students in 4th Grade and in Music Visions were able to attend a concert at Twichell Auditorium at Converse College on Wednesday, March 25, to see the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra perform “Carnegie Link-Up: The Orchestra Moves.” Students have been learning about the instruments of the orchestra and how to play their own instruments, recorders, before moving on to band, strings, and chorus in the 5th grade. They listened to the orchestra perform pieces by Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss. Th

Lone Oak Robotics Team

The Lone Oak Robotics Team will be competition in the First Lego League State Championship at River Bluff High School in Lexington, SC on Saturday, March 21st. This competition will host 60 robotics teams from across the state. The top two teams will be invited to St. Louis, Missouri or Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The award was presented Tuesday, March. 17, 2015, at his school. Young's class also received a pizza party courtesy of Papa John's Pizza.

Operation Warmth

A HUGE thank you to WSPA News Channel 7’s Caring for the Carolinas and United Way of the Piedmont’s Molly Moyer for partnering with Bath Fitters and Harrison, White, Smith and Coggins to collect coats as a part of Operation Warmth. We also thank Bell Cleaners for dry cleaning all the donated items. Over 300 items were donated to Arcadia and were shared with Lone Oak’s students and community as well.
